There are many Christmas ideas from which you can choose the one of your own personal choice. It is fun to make Christmas crafts at home and simultaneously by doing such creative things at home you can spend some quality time with your family. So what you are looking for, just go ahead and try this cute Christmas craft of snowman’s family.
Requirements-
- Salt- one cup
- Flour- two cups
- Water- one cup
- Paintbrushes
- Acrylic paints- black, white, green, red, orange and pink
- Mini pompoms- two
- Golden glitter pompom- one
- orange toothpicks- two
- felt scraps
- Small twigs- six
- Ribbon- pink and golden
How to make it- it can be made very easily by 12 and above year’s olds.
- For the baking purpose, preheat the oven at 250 F.
- Take one cup of salt and two cups of water. Mix them together and add one cup of water to knead the mixture to make the dough. Add water until the dough is formed. Make sure that the water should be added accurately otherwise the dough becomes sticky. If the dough becomes sticky then sprinkle some flour to remove the stickiness. Do not add flour in excess otherwise the dough get dry and cracks before baking is done.
- Make small balls out of this dough of three different sizes. To make the snowman, line up the three different sized balls such that one touches the other. Likewise make the other two snowmen. Place these snowmen on the cookie sheet. Make sure the snowmen touch each other so as to become one piece after baking.
- Before baking, insert the twigs in the snowman’s body to make the arms. Break the orange toothpicks into half and insert them in the heads of the snowmen to make the nose.
- Place the cookie sheet into the oven and leave it to bake for approximately 2-2.5 hours. After baking, remove it from the oven and allow it to dry for 4 hours. For better results leave it to cool and dry overnight.
- With white acrylic paint, paint the snowmen and for making buttons, make the dots using orange, green and red acrylic paints.
- Use felt scraps to make hats for the snow family members and glue a pompom at the top of each hat.
- For scarves, cut small pieces out of felt scraps and tie a knot of it around the neck of the snowman.
- For making eyes and mouth, use black acrylic paints and put dots with it.
- You can embellish your snowman with other decorating things like gold ribbon and glittery pompom.
Leave it to dry and your snowman family is ready.
