How to Make a Floppy-eared Christmas Mouse

All of us are eagerly waiting for the Christmas. Instead of purchasing Christmas tree ornaments and other crafts, why don’t you try to make one of your own? It will give a personalized touch to your Christmas tree. The Christmas craft I am mentioning here is funny looking and can be made easily within half an hour. It is the floppy eared mouse. Let’s make it.

Floppy-eared Christmas Mouse

Needs- Just collect the following items to make this little creature.

  1. Red, brown, tan, green, dark brown, pink and white colored felt sheets.
  2. Patterns of parts of body
  3. Jumbo craft stick or doll pin and doll pin stand
  4. Small wiggle eyes (2)
  5. A large button
  6. Ribbon piece (10 inches)
  7. Pair of scissors
  8. White glue

That’s it. Now let’s start its making.

How to make this little mouse?

  1. Print the various patterns on the felt and cut out the shapes. Cut the shoes out of brown felt and for hands, ears, legs and face use brown felt. Cut a hat from the red felt and to make body cut out green. Use pink felt for the cheeks and white for the trim.
  2. Take the doll pin and insert it in the doll pin stand. To make this puppet you can also use the craft stick.
  3. Place the legs at the bottom of the doll pin and glue it over there.
  4. Take the shoes shaped felt pieces and glue them at the doll pin stand such that it will overlap the legs little bit.
  5. Glue the body shaped piece above the legs over the doll pin, overlapping the legs from the top.
  6. Now place the head overlapping the neck area of the body, glue it over there.
  7. Place the ears behind the head and glue them with the head.
  8. To assemble the hat, glue the white trim to the red hat’s base and also glue the white pom-pom at the top of the red hat.
  9. Glue this assembled red hat at the top of the head covering the sides of the head.
  10. Glue over the nose piece on the face /head. Also, glue the wiggle eyes above the nose on the face.
  11. Place the button at the center of the body and glue it. Now, glue the hands to the button’s side.
  12. Pass the ribbon out of the opening at the back of the doll pin, tie a knot there and glue it. If you are using the craft stick, just glue the ribbon at the stick’s back.
  13. Let the glue dry completely and your floppy eared mouse is ready to hang on the Christmas tree.
