Thinking of a Christmas idea, then try this heavenly Christmas craft. This is quite amazing and is made by recycling burnt out light bulb. It will look so pretty that you will love to show it to everyone. You can use it as a decoration of your Christmas tree and can also hang it in the doorway.
Material required- you will need
- A burnt out light bulb
- Acrylic Paints- pink, flesh and white
- Paint brushes
- Rubbing alcohol
- Wire cutter
- Gold ribbon or cord
- Gold wire
- Fiberfil
- Golden scrap material
- Fine black marker
- Hot glue gun
- Scissors
- Some tiny silk flowers
- Iridescent flowers- three
- Lace with the floral pattern
How to make it-
- Firstly, wipe the light bulb down with the rubbing alcohol so that the paint adhere the glass of the bulb. Leave it to dry.
- Now, paint the bulb completely with the white acrylic paint. Let it dry for sometime and apply second coat. You can leave the socket of the light bulb unpainted.
- When the bulb is drying, cut out two flowers out of lace.
- Cut the golden craft wire and fashion a halo of it. Make sure that the enough wire is left to wrap around the socket.
- Now, wrap the craft wire around the bulb’s socket and manipulate it in such a way that the halo comes over the socket or head of the angel.
- Take the gold fabric and glue it around the bulb’s socket. cover the remaining socket with the Fiberfil by making tubes with the Fiberfil. Glue the tubes in place.
- Now, take the handful of tiny silk flowers and glue them one by one above the gold band to cover the entire socket.
- To make the face of the angel, paint the upper portion of the light bulb with flesh acrylic paint.
- Make a bow of golden ribbon and glue it in front of the bulb just below the point from where the round part begins. Glue the iridescent flowers around the bow.
- Glue the two lace flowers around the angel’s body to create the shawl. Overlap the two pieces wherever needed.
- Glue the angel wings at the back of the angel.
- Make a loop with the help of gold ribbon or cord and glue it at the back just above the wings. This will be the hanger.
- Draw the eyes and mouth with the help of fine black marker.
- To make the cheeks dip the paint brush in pink acrylic paint. Dab it on the paper towel to remove the excess of it then gently and carefully blot on cheeks.
