Bead work can be a joyful activity. If you have some spare time on your hands, beads work is an amazing hobby. There is a very good chance you might be able to make wonderful Christmas Ornaments and gifts such as purses, key chains, frames and many other interesting things. Best thing about beads is that you can always recycle them. So next time if you see some beaded object in the junk sale you should stop and buy it. Buying new beads for beads work projects is always bit expensive. However you can get used beads from junk shops or garage sales for fraction of price. Often there are chances of getting some rare things. But before buying such thing for your Christmas Ornaments, must be careful that you do not buy something you will not use. Here is an easy application of beading technique for beginner.

Classic Net Bracelet

The vertical net can be used to create many interesting Christmas Ornaments. You can make bracelets, bags, lamp shades, Christmas cards, and similar things with this. Following is the process. This is beginner’s design with only two colors beads. The chain is made with golden strings and red knots between.

Material Required

1. base of white cotton, cut in the shape of bracelet
2. Button
3. Size 8 beads – Lighter color, yellow, golden or white
4. Size 11 beads – Darker color, Pink, Red, blue
5. Beading Thread
6. Needles
7. Scissor

Method

Step 1

Make the back of the bracelet with white cotton or the cloth of your choice. Sew from sides and cut in the middle from the back side and turn it over and iron it.

Step 2

Arrange your materials; the beads must be kept in separate small containers to avoid mixing. It will reduce chances of extra effort on separating the beads. Put a strong beading thread in your needle. It should not be too long as often the long thread gets entangled.

Step 3

Take the first bead of darker color, and then take three lighter color beads. You can increase the number of beads in the outside chain according to your desire. Repeat this process depending upon the length you want. This simplified net needs only four times of the length.

Step 4

String three lighter beads, and then string one darker and then three lighter beads. After this the next step is important. You should string through the darker bead of the first strand. Keep repeating this, once reach on top come back again in the similar pattern.

Step 5

Attach the net created with needle to the back of bracelet. Put the button and make a button hole on the corner with scissor. Sew around it, now your own handmade bracelet is ready, you can gift it as a Christmas Ornament to your loved ones as a token of your love and affection. You can ask your children to join you in making these Christmas decorations. All of you will enjoy quality family time together.
